Talent is Overated – (In Business)
How do a Business start? With an idea right? Then planning, then execution. After execution or giving birth to your products, or after you have gathered all the materials or equipments to execute, you need Branding, Marketing, Advertising, etc. All this elements has to go together to convert your idea into Sales. But before you start processing your idea to a Business you have to be very passionate about the idea.
Passion is not bought but natural emotion in you, it is an automated one. You want to tell people about your company services? Your passion will tell all. You want tenders or funds? At the presentation your passion will tell all? At all times when you talk about your business, your passion must be present or otherwise your imposing your idea on people, instead of helping them understand why it’s so good for them.
Passion is very important. You showing passion, the consumers or investors trust you more with their money because they know they are more likely to get exactly or more than what they paid or invested for.
We take the value of passion for granted, and yet passion is what will make us successful.I would like to hear or meet anyone who became or are successful in what they doing without passion. That’s how important passion is.
The attitude you bring towards your business is shown by your passion. When you start or run your business with passion you are able to solve or deal with difficult situations you are/will be faced with. You will fight until you win those battles because of the passion you have, and simply because you are doing what you love. Dedication and Determination are not difficult to bring in you to form a character, they are automatically driven in you because of your passion. Passion drives you.
You cannot run your business based on talent only. Many have talent in certain things or areas and people will wonder why are they not pursuing business based on those talents. But the answer is that they are just not passionate about them. When you own a business, you breath, talk and live your business. Your business wakes you up in the early hours of the morning or go to bed very late in the evening or even at times a day with no sleep. Will you do all this if you were not passionate about what you do?
Maybe money is one of the factors that you want to go in business but will you sustain it? Cash flow is the most stressful and demanding factor in business. Therefore if your casflow is not healthy or positive you will be easily broken if you are not passionate about your business. Remember money comes after Passion! This is the reason you see some businesses do very well in their early days and fall still in their early days.
It all comes to one question. How do you choose a career you are not passionate about?
Do not go into business for money or the popularity of it.
